The process usually begins with a familiar Arabic melody. Instead of performing it exactly as it was originally composed, Rana and her band explore new rhythms, harmonies, and instrumental arrangements that bring the piece into the world of jazz.
During rehearsals, musicians experiment with tempo, improvisation, and musical dialogue between instruments until the piece develops its own identity.

Jazz gives musicians the freedom to explore beyond written notes. In Rana’s performances, improvisation allows every concert to become unique.
The violin, vocals, and accompanying instruments interact in real time, creating moments that can never be repeated in exactly the same way again.
